About

Some things begin with a grand plan. This one began with chai going cold.

It was late. The kind of late where the rest of the world has gone quiet and the only thing left is honesty. Two sisters, sitting on the floor surrounded by fabric swatches and half-finished thoughts, asking each other a question that felt almost too simple to say out loud — why does getting dressed in clothes we actually love feel this hard?

Not beautiful clothes. Not expensive clothes. Clothes that felt like us. Indian, but not stuck in time. Festive, but not only for festivals. Comfortable enough for a Tuesday, special enough for always.

That question wouldn't let them go.

A NAME THAT CARRIES MEANING

Harpreet. Nancy. Take the first letters of each name and something new is born — Hana.

But the word chose them back. In Japanese, Hana means flower. In Arabic, it means happiness and grace. In the language the two sisters speak to each other — the private one that only siblings share — it means this is ours, and we built it together.

Every woman who wears Hana Label is, in some quiet way, part of that story.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

A piece of clothing is never just a piece of clothing.

It is the kurta you reach for on the morning of an important meeting because it makes you stand taller. It is the suit set you wear to your cousin's wedding and feel, for the first time all day, entirely yourself. It is the co-ord set your daughter borrows without asking and you let her, because you know exactly why she wanted it.

Clothes carry feeling. They hold memory. They say things about who we are before we speak a single word.

We design for that. Not for trends. Not for runways. For the quiet, powerful, everyday moments where a woman looks in the mirror and thinks — yes, this is me.

OUR CRAFT

How we make what we make

Every Hana Label piece begins with a question we ask ourselves honestly — would we wear this? Not on a good day. On a real one.

We work in small batches because we believe the best things are made slowly. We partner with skilled craftspeople across India — block printers, embroiderers, weavers — who have spent lifetimes learning their craft. We give them time, because rushed hands cannot do their best work.

We choose fabrics that feel as good as they look. We obsess over fits because we know that the same silhouette behaves differently on different bodies, and every woman deserves to feel like a garment was made with her in mind. We create silhouettes that are timeless rather than trendy because we are not interested in clothes you wear once and forget.

We are not the fastest brand. We are not trying to be the biggest. We are trying to be the one you trust completely — the one whose bag you open at a family gathering and someone always asks, where did you get that?

WHO WE DESIGN FOR

For every woman

We did not design Hana Label for a particular kind of woman.

We designed it for the mother who deserves to feel beautiful on the school run. For the young woman navigating her first job and wanting to wear her culture proudly without apology. For the grandmother whose elegance has always been effortless and who deserves fabrics as soft as everything she has given. For the bride's sister who is tired of being an afterthought. For the woman who has worn the same three Western outfits for two years because nothing Indian felt quite right for her life.

For every woman who has ever stood in front of her wardrobe and felt, despite everything hanging there, that she had nothing to wear.

We see you. We made this for you.

A Note from Harpreet and Nancy

We started Hana Label because we were tired of choosing between beautiful and comfortable, between traditional and modern, between who we were and who we wanted to be.

We wanted clothes that held all of it at once. We hope we've made them for you.

With love, Harpreet & Nancy Sisters. Founders. Still drinking too much chai.
